Fastly, a global edge cloud platform provider, has joined the DIMPACT coalition to help media and streaming companies measure and cut their digital carbon footprints. As the first edge cloud platform in the initiative, Fastly will share edge network data and infrastructure expertise to improve emissions tracking for Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, which are indirect emissions across a company's value chain. DIMPACT focuses on science-based solutions for digital media delivery, and Fastly's participation aims to provide granular data and actionable insights for decarbonizing content distribution. The collaboration supports industry-wide efforts to make the internet more sustainable as digital consumption and AI-generated traffic grow.
