Formula 1 says it has cut its total carbon footprint by 35% compared to 2018 levels, keeping the sport on track for its 2030 net zero goal. Total emissions dropped 12% from 2024, with nearly 80,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent removed since the program started. The biggest reductions came from changes in freight and logistics, sustainable aviation fuel use, renewable energy projects, and factory efficiency improvements. Factory and facility emissions fell 64% versus 2018. Travel emissions dropped 27% and logistics emissions fell 29%. Event operations emissions decreased 6% even as the race calendar grew from 21 to 24 races. F1 also doubled its investment in sustainable aviation fuel compared to 2024, cutting related air charter emissions by roughly 40%. The sport made its first investment in sustainable maritime fuel during the 2025 season.
