Formula 1 reported a 35% reduction in its carbon footprint compared to 2018, keeping its 2030 net zero target within reach. Total emissions fell 12% from 2024, with nearly 80,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent removed since the program began. The biggest cuts came from freight and logistics changes, sustainable aviation fuel, and renewable energy projects. Factory and facility emissions dropped 64% versus 2018, travel emissions fell 27%, and logistics emissions decreased 29%. Event operations emissions fell 6% even as the calendar expanded from 21 to 24 races. F1 doubled its investment in sustainable aviation fuel and made its first investment in sustainable maritime fuel during the 2025 season. The sport plans to cut air freight further by expanding sea freight and regional logistics hubs. More than half of broadcast and related freight currently flown will shift to surface transport by 2030.
