Exotic Food, Maker of Flying Goose Sriracha, Becomes Thailand's First Food Company Certified to ISO 14068-1:2023
thailand-business-news.comThai food exporter Exotic Food, best known for its Flying Goose Sriracha, has become the first food company in Thailand certified to ISO 14068-1:2023, the international standard for carbon neutrality. The certification followed a review and recalculation of its emissions baseline, upgrades to its emissions-data management, and independent verification by MASCI. The company targets carbon neutrality by 2040 and net zero by 2050. Early steps include solar power at its Amata City Rayong facility, more solar planned at its Phitsanulok raw-material facility, energy efficiency improvements, and a gradual shift of freight from diesel trucks to electric vehicles. Under ISO 14068-1, offsets are allowed only for residual emissions after avoidance and reduction efforts. For buyers in Europe and other export markets, the certification gives Exotic Food a verifiable framework for tracking emissions over time. The announcement does not include absolute reduction numbers, so the next useful update would be a published baseline and annual progress against it.
