Exotic Food becomes Thailand's first food company to earn ISO 14068-1 carbon certification
asiafoodjournal.comExotic Food, the Thai company behind Flying Goose Sriracha, has become the first food business in Thailand to receive ISO 14068-1:2023 certification for greenhouse gas management. The certification covers its manufacturing operations and supports its public targets of carbon neutrality by 2040 and net zero by 2050. The company says it recalculated its emissions baseline, upgraded data management, and had independent verification as part of the process. It is now installing solar at its Rayong facility, planning more at a raw-material plant in Phitsanulok, and working with logistics partners to shift from diesel trucks to electric vehicles. The ISO framework prioritizes cutting emissions first, with offsets only allowed for residual emissions that cannot yet be eliminated. This matters because food exporters face growing pressure from European buyers to prove their climate claims. A certified standard is more credible than a vague sustainability pledge, but the real test will be whether the emissions numbers keep dropping as the business grows.
