Europlasma's Valdunes and Saarstahl Ascoval partner to produce low-carbon railway wheels from recycled steel
ideal-investisseur.frEuroplasma's subsidiary Valdunes Industries signed a memorandum of understanding with steelmaker Saarstahl Ascoval on September 23, 2026. The two companies, both based in Hauts-de-France, plan to develop a new generation of railway wheels with a low carbon footprint. End-of-life wheels will be collected from railway operators, melted down by Saarstahl Ascoval, and turned into new steel for Valdunes to manufacture new wheels with the same performance specs. This closed-loop process uses locally produced low-carbon steel, cutting emissions from both manufacturing and transport. The first deliveries are scheduled for the end of 2026. Valdunes already has international orders for the current fiscal year. Europlasma is listed on Euronext Growth under ticker ALEUP.
