The European Commission has completed the first round of its Hydrogen Mechanism, a platform designed to bridge the gap between hydrogen producers and industrial buyers. The initiative registered 265 supply opportunities for renewable and low-carbon hydrogen and its derivatives, including ammonia and methanol. Results show strong market interest, with 87% of suppliers receiving at least one expression of interest from potential offtakers. The mechanism aims to reduce administrative barriers and provide market intelligence to help companies secure procurement and scale hydrogen infrastructure across the EU.
