Ethiopia is implementing a new strategy to ensure its exports, particularly coffee, meet the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The approach focuses on youth-led climate innovations and sustainable land management to protect carbon-critical landscapes while maintaining trade access. Supported by the African Forest Forum and other partners, the initiative integrates green financing and technology to move beyond simple regulatory compliance. The goal is to create high-quality green jobs and modernize the country's low-carbon economy through localized restoration efforts.
