Epsilon Carbon becomes India's first BIS certified carbon black manufacturer with zero liquid discharge and waste gas power
passionateinmarketing.comEpsilon Carbon has become the first carbon black manufacturer in India to receive BIS certification, covering its production processes, quality management, and product compliance. The certification applies to its facilities in Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, which together produce 215,000 metric tons of carbon black and 320,000 metric tons of specialty carbon annually. The company supplies to tyre makers, rubber goods producers, and other downstream industries that increasingly require certified supply chains. Epsilon Carbon's operations are fully backward integrated, using captive feedstock and waste gases from steel production. The company runs a zero liquid discharge system, reuses all treated wastewater on site, and meets 100% of its energy needs through a captive power plant running on recovered waste gases. That setup reduces reliance on grid power and cuts emissions from flaring, which matters for industrial decarbonization in India's hard to abate sectors.
