Eni S.p.A. has successfully completed tests of Enilive's HVO diesel biofuel in cooperation with MSC Cruises. This move marks a step in the company's strategy to integrate lower carbon solutions into the shipping industry while maintaining its traditional oil and gas operations. The Italian energy group is increasingly pivoting toward bio-refining and renewable energy. By converting traditional refineries to process waste based feedstocks and vegetable oils, Eni aims to reduce the carbon intensity of maritime and industrial transport.
