Eni CCUS Holding has secured over $670 million in financing from 13 international lenders to expand its carbon capture and storage platform. The funding supports several key initiatives, including the Liverpool Bay CCS project in the UK, which is part of the HyNet industrial decarbonization cluster. The Liverpool Bay project aims to store 4.5 million tonnes of CO2 annually in its first phase, with plans to scale up to 10 million tonnes by the 2030s. The facility will utilize depleted gas reservoirs beneath the seabed and is expected to begin operations in 2028.
