Power company Engie has signed a deal with Deep Sky to purchase up to 15,000 carbon removal credits from direct air capture facilities. The partnership focuses on scaling carbon removal technology and developing the necessary market infrastructure for permanent underground storage. Beyond credit procurement, the two companies will conduct joint research on how DAC plants can respond to dynamic energy loads. This effort aims to better integrate carbon removal into the power grid, improving overall efficiency and reducing the operational costs of DAC deployment.
