enfinium has completed a major engineering upgrade at its Ferrybridge 1 energy-from-waste facility in West Yorkshire. The project included replacing super heaters, renewing refractory tiles, and repairing induced draft fans to improve the plant's reliability and efficiency in generating power from non-recyclable waste. Beyond immediate maintenance, the operator is planning to integrate carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology at the site. This move is part of a broader strategy to transition energy-from-waste operations toward high-quality carbon removals and support the UK's Net Zero goals.
