10 hours is useful but round trip efficiency on CO2 compression is lower than lithium. I want to see the actual RTE number and how much parasitic load the compressor draws. Also, 20 MW is small for a grid scale project.

The closed loop CO2 reuse is interesting. No lithium supply chain risk. But the article doesn't mention cost per kWh or LCOE. Without that it's hard to compare against flow batteries or pumped hydro for 10 hour storage.

SEC is acting as both generator and retailer here. That vertical integration might help with offtake certainty. But the article skips how this gets financed. Is it SEC equity, a grant, or a PPA with a data center? That matters for replication.
