The UK's ENA Connect Direct platform has now processed over 400,000 grid connection applications for domestic low carbon technologies since its launch in May 2024. The free online tool lets installers manage connections for EV chargers, solar panels, heat pumps, and batteries across multiple Distribution Network Operators. In May 2026 alone, more than 26,000 new applications were submitted through the platform. The platform automates routine approvals and includes a database of pre-approved device models, which cuts down on duplicate paperwork. ENA plans to add electric boilers and air conditioning units later this year.
