The agreement aims to accelerate the deployment of district cooling systems worldwide as a proven solution to improve energy efficiency, enhance energy security, and reduce carbon emissions. The MoU supports the objectives of the Paris Climate Agreement and focuses on exchanging expertise, promoting innovation, and developing regulatory frameworks. District cooling is significantly more efficient than traditional air conditioning, cutting electricity use and associated emissions in hot climates. This initiative reflects growing international recognition that cooling infrastructure is a critical lever for urban decarbonization.
