A nine-star passive prefabricated home was transported 160 kilometers from the Yarra Valley to Victoria's Bass Coast using a Volvo electric prime mover. This project demonstrates an end-to-end decarbonized housing process, combining factory construction with electric freight and all-electric living. The modular home is part of The Cape, Australia's first net-zero carbon housing community. Analysis shows the home reduces annual CO2 emissions by over 10 tonnes and lowers running costs by approximately 87 percent compared to standard residential builds.
