Elecon Engineering has committed to a 54.6% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by FY 2033, aligned with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The target is detailed in the company's latest Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for FY 2025-26. The manufacturer also plans to align 81.4% of its suppliers by emissions with sustainability goals by FY 2028, covering goods and services. Elecon's current captive renewable capacity stands at 18.75 MW (13.25 MW wind, 5.5 MW solar), meeting 20-30% of its energy needs. However, an additional 3.3 MW wind and 5 MW solar capacity additions have been deferred to FY 2026-27 due to weather delays, highlighting execution risks in scaling renewables. The company also deployed three electric forklifts and ten e-scooters for internal logistics. Independent assurance was provided by CNK & Associates LLP for key BRSR indicators.
