Egypt is launching its first sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project in Alexandria through a partnership between the Egyptian Sustainable Aviation Fuel Company (ESAF) and Honeywell. Using Ecofining technology, the plant will convert organic waste into renewable fuels, aiming to cut annual carbon emissions by 400,000 tons. Additionally, the Egyptian Linear Alkyl Benzene Company (ELAB) is implementing new Honeywell UOP technology to produce straight-chain paraffins. This industrial expansion focuses on increasing local production of aviation fuel and petrochemicals to reduce import dependency.
