Egypt and Norway have established a five year strategic partnership to advance green energy and carbon reduction. The agreement emphasizes the deployment of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies to lower the carbon footprint of Egyptian exports to Europe. A key highlight of the cooperation is the green ammonia project in Damietta. This facility aims to produce 150,000 tons of green ammonia annually, powered by 480 megawatts of wind and solar energy through a partnership involving Scatec, Yara International, and MOPCO.
