Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has inaugurated the UAE's largest aluminium recycling facility at Al Taweelah. The plant can process 185,000 tonnes of scrap per year into low-carbon billets and T-bars under the RevivAL brand. Recycling aluminium uses up to 95% less energy than primary production, which cuts greenhouse gas emissions significantly. The facility supports the UAE's Circular Economy Policy and reduces the need to export scrap for processing abroad. EGA blends recycled metal with solar and nuclear-powered primary aluminium to create products marketed as CelestiAL-R and MinimAL-R. The company's total global recycling capacity now exceeds 400,000 tonnes per year, with additional capacity under development in Europe and the United States. Full commercial ramp-up at Al Taweelah will take up to six months depending on local scrap availability.
