EESL has partnered with FARMER and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to roll out an energy efficiency program in schools under the Civil Lines Zone. The initiative will install BEE Star-rated BLDC fans, LED tube lights, and LED bulbs through the UJALA programme, along with energy management systems. The goal is to turn school campuses into efficiency models and educate students on energy conservation and climate change. Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh and other officials presented a Certificate of Appreciation to EESL's communication team for the effort. EESL reported that the UJALA programme has generated annual savings of over Rs 19,153 crore and reduced peak power demand by 9,586 MW nationwide. Andhra Pradesh alone saves 2,863 million units annually, while Delhi saves 1,192 million units, together preventing nearly 2.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
