EDP Renewables APAC has commissioned a 44MWp solar farm in Fukushima, Japan, built on a repurposed golf course. The project is backed by a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Amazon to support its 2040 net-zero carbon goals. The facility features over 63,000 panels and is expected to generate 48GWh of energy annually. This project is part of a broader strategy by EDP to expand its Japanese portfolio to 500MWp by 2030, including the integration of battery energy storage systems to improve grid stability.
