Eden Innovations' EdenCrete Pz7 passes Indian concrete trials with stronger, lower-carbon mix
theaustralian.com.auEden Innovations' EdenCrete Pz7 admixture, enhanced with carbon nanotubes, passed laboratory trials at India's Central Road Research Institute. The tests showed up to 28% better abrasion resistance, 19% higher compressive strength, and 25% less drying shrinkage compared to standard concrete mixes. The product was tested on two paving-grade mixes used for new highways and white topping repairs. The results are significant for reducing the carbon footprint of concrete. The admixture allows producers to cut cement content while maintaining strength, especially when combined with fly ash or slag. India builds about 4 km of new concrete highway daily and has over 50,000 km of concrete roads built since 2014, many now entering repair cycles. Eden India plans to accelerate field trials for highways and repairs with CRRI. The company says the combination of validated performance, cost benefits, and lower CO2 emissions could drive adoption in India's large concrete market over the next few years.
