EcoGuard and CONFED Launch Digital Carbon Market Platform for 3 Million Philippine Coconut Farmers
thailand-business-news.comEcoGuard Global and the Confederation of Coconut Farmers Organizations (CONFED) have gone live with the CONFED Carbon Office, a digital carbon market platform serving over 3 million coconut farmers across the Philippines. The system handles project registration, digital MRV, carbon credit issuance, and transactions on the Hedera blockchain, covering roughly 3.6 million hectares of farmland. This follows the partnership announced at Davos in January 2026 and is the first deployment of its kind in the country. The platform aims to connect farmers with climate finance by simplifying carbon project development and reducing double-counting risks. The first project onboarded is the Samar COCAL Agroforestry Project, expected to generate 200,000 credits annually, with EcoGuard making an initial credit purchase. The launch aligns with the Philippines' 2026-2030 voluntary forest carbon market roadmap, which identifies 1.2 million hectares as investment zones.
