EcoGuard and CONFED Launch Carbon Office Platform for 3 Million Filipino Coconut Farmers
bastillepost.comEcoGuard Global and the Confederation of Coconut Farmers Organizations of the Philippines have gone live with the CONFED Carbon Office, a digital platform for issuing, tracking, and retiring carbon credits. The deployment covers roughly 3.6 million hectares of coconut farmland and is designed to help more than 3 million farmers access climate finance through high-integrity carbon projects. The first project onboarded is the Samar COCAL Agroforestry Project, which could generate around 200,000 credits per year. The platform runs on Hedera distributed ledger technology and includes digital MRV, project registration, documentation, and transaction tools in one system. EcoGuard says it has already bought an initial tranche of credits from the Samar project. The launch follows a memorandum announced at Davos in January 2026 and aligns with the Philippines' new voluntary forest carbon market roadmap for 2026 to 2030.
