EcoCeres and British Airways extend SAF supply deal to 2030, targeting 198,000 tonnes of CO2 savings

EcoCeres and British Airways have extended their sustainable aviation fuel supply agreement through 2030. The deal is expected to help British Airways avoid roughly 198,000 tonnes of lifecycle carbon emissions compared to using fossil jet fuel. EcoCeres produces its SAF from 100% waste-based feedstocks like used cooking oil, achieving up to 94.4% greenhouse gas reductions versus conventional fuel. SAF is a drop-in fuel that works with existing aircraft and airport infrastructure, making it one of the more immediate options for cutting aviation emissions. The extended partnership gives British Airways longer-term supply visibility as demand for lower-carbon jet fuel continues to grow. EcoCeres CEO Matti Lievonen said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to practical decarbonization in the aviation sector.
