Ecocem Secures Funding for Low-Carbon Cement Pilot in Ireland
facilitiesmanagement-now.comA consortium including Ecocem, Cairn, and Kilsaran has received 50,000 euros from Construct Innovate to test low-carbon cement technology at scale in Ireland. The project focuses on validating the ACT cement technology, which claims to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 70 percent compared to traditional cement. This pilot is part of a larger industrial push, including a 50 million euro production plant currently under construction in Dunkirk, France. The Irish demonstration will provide independent technical assessment through University College Dublin to prove the buildability and carbon impact of the material.
