A consortium including Ecocem, Cairn, Kilsaran, and UCD has secured funding to validate a new low-carbon cement technology in Ireland. The project uses ACT technology, which claims to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 70 percent compared to traditional cement. The initiative involves a full-scale demonstration project and independent technical assessment at University College Dublin. This effort supports the broader goal of decarbonizing the construction sector, which contributes significantly to global carbon emissions.
