Ebbw Vale District Heat Network Receives UK Government Funding for Decarbonization

Blaenau Gwent Council has secured funding from the UK Government's Heat Network Efficiency Scheme to improve the Ebbw Vale district heat network. The project focuses on enhancing the performance of its combined heat and power (CHP) and biomass systems to reduce carbon emissions. This investment aims to develop a long-term decarbonization plan and improve the cost-effectiveness of the network. The system currently provides low-carbon heat to several public buildings, including sports centers and educational facilities, with plans to potentially expand connections.
