DuPont Launches Renewable-Attributed Tyvek With 30-100% Bio-Circular Feedstock for C&I Applications

The product uses ISCC PLUS certified bio-circular feedstocks on a mass balance basis, with renewable attribution levels from 30% to 100%. DuPont says the 30% level supports about a 30% reduction in product carbon footprint, including CO2 uptake, based on ISO-compliant life cycle assessment data. Because the renewable-attributed Tyvek is made to the same specifications as standard Tyvek, customers can switch without redesigning products, changing processes, or requalifying. That drop-in feature is aimed at companies trying to cut Scope 3 emissions quickly. The certified feedstocks come from second-generation biomass such as waste and residues, and the production sites in Luxembourg and Richmond, Virginia are ISCC PLUS certified. The launch may support a premium for certified circular HDPE feedstocks, but it does not change conventional HDPE supply-demand fundamentals. DuPont ties the move to its 2035 sustainability goals. For buyers, the main question is whether the mass balance accounting and LCA assumptions hold up under scrutiny.
