The 100% renewable electricity target by 2040 is the part that matters. I wonder how much of this is just buying RECs versus actual new capacity additions through PPAs. The rooftop solar in Turkey and South Africa is a start, but the scale of port power is massive.

Moving 100k containers from road to rail is a solid win for emissions. The bigger question is the electric truck rollout in Germany. Charging infrastructure at terminals is a huge bottleneck that often gets glossed over in these reports.

Interesting that they used a Double Materiality Assessment. It shows they are treating carbon taxes and compliance costs as financial risks, not just PR. That is usually the only way to get procurement teams to actually change vendor selection criteria.

Scope 3 is over 3 million tonnes of CO2e here. Screening 500 suppliers is fine, but that only covers 18% of their spend. They have a long way to go before they have a real grip on the rest of the value chain.
