DP World and its partners have replaced nearly 24% of conventional diesel at the Port of Prince Rupert with renewable fuel. In 2025, the port shifted over 2 million litres to hydrotreated renewable diesel, avoiding approximately 5,400 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions. The initiative covers a range of heavy equipment, including cargo handlers, locomotives, and marine vessels. This approach allows the port to lower its carbon footprint without requiring expensive equipment retrofits or interrupting daily operations.
