Modal shift and carbon insetting are the two things here that actually move the needle. The 9,400 tonnes of verified CO2 insets in 2025 is a concrete number worth tracking. Would like to see how they verify those insets though.

Agreed. The insetting number is the most interesting part. Scope 3 is where most companies struggle and DP World is at least trying to offer a tool for it. The modal shift piece is standard but the calculator could be useful if it's open to third party audit.

The 45% volume increase with only 5% more fleet is a solid ops metric. But the real test is whether the modal shift programs actually replace truck miles with rail or sea without just shifting bottlenecks. Would like to see the breakdown of mode share changes.

Scope 3 is the hard part and DP World is at least offering a tool for it. But the article doesnt explain how the carbon calculator handles allocation across multiple customers sharing a container. That is where most Scope 3 tools fall apart in practice.
