DP Architects Voluntarily Discloses 3,141 Tonne Carbon Footprint, Sets Net-Zero Operations Target for 2045
businesstimes.com.sgDP Architects, a Singapore-based firm, has voluntarily published its carbon footprint for the second year running, reporting 3,141 tonnes of CO2 emissions in 2024, up from 2,430 tonnes in 2023. The increase is attributed to an expanded reporting boundary covering 16 offices worldwide. The firm has set targets to cut operational carbon by 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero operations by 2045. The firm also uses a framework called Attributes of Purposeful Design (APD) to guide projects toward Green Mark certification. In completed Singapore projects, 67% achieved Platinum or better, and one building cut energy use by 47.6%. DP Architects plans to publish a decade of APD data, which could provide valuable benchmarks for tropical building design. The firm is also prototyping a sustainability AI agent to assist architects during design decisions.
