Dow has selected Worley to provide front-end engineering design for the cogeneration and carbon capture components of its Path2Zero project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The initiative aims to create the first net-zero emissions integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives site, targeting both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. The facility is expected to be operational by late 2030 and will produce 3.2 million metric tons of low-carbon polyethylene annually. This project represents a significant scale-up in industrial carbon capture, intending to decarbonize roughly 20% of Dow's global ethylene capacity.
