Dow has selected Worley to provide front-end engineering design for the cogeneration and carbon capture systems at its Path2Zero project in Alberta. The initiative aims to create the first net-zero emissions integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives site, focusing on reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. The facility is expected to be operational by late 2030 and will produce 3.2 million metric tonnes of low-carbon polyethylene annually. This project represents a significant effort to decarbonize a large portion of global ethylene production through integrated industrial carbon capture.
