Dow Partners with Worley for Net-Zero Ethylene Project in Alberta
chemengonline.comDow has selected Worley to provide front-end engineering design services for the cogeneration component of its Path2Zero project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The facility aims to be the first net-zero emissions integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives site, targeting both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. The project includes a brownfield installation of a cogeneration plant featuring integrated post-combustion carbon capture. Expected to be operational by 2030, the site will produce 3.2 million metric tons of low-carbon polyethylene annually and represents a significant step in decarbonizing Dow's global ethylene capacity.
