Dow has contracted Worley to provide front-end engineering design for the cogeneration component of its Path2Zero project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The initiative aims to create the world's first fully integrated net-zero emissions ethylene cracker and derivatives complex, targeting both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. The project will integrate post-combustion carbon capture technology to minimize emissions from energy production. Once operational by 2030, the facility is expected to decarbonize roughly 20 percent of Dow's global ethylene production while tripling polyethylene output at the site.
