The Northern Endurance Partnership, a joint venture between BP, Equinor, and TotalEnergies, has appointed DNV to certify its CO2 transport and storage infrastructure. This project is a critical component of the UK's East Coast Cluster, aiming to decarbonize industrial hubs in Teesside and the Humber by moving captured emissions to permanent storage under the North Sea. DNV will verify the design, construction, and commissioning of the entire chain, from the point of CO2 receipt to the offshore injection systems. Independent certification is now a mandatory requirement for carbon capture and storage projects in the UK to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
