Direct air capture systems pull CO2 out of ambient air, and a new market study from Polaris Market Research projects the sector will grow from USD 147.07 million in 2025 to USD 4,542.05 million by 2034, a CAGR of 46.4%. North America leads with a 45.8% revenue share, supported by DOE-backed hubs in Louisiana, Texas, California, Utah, and North Dakota, while Asia Pacific is expected to grow fastest at 49.7%. The study highlights real demand signals, including an offtake agreement between 1PointFive and Bain & Company for 9,000 metric tons of DAC-based removal credits. But costs remain steep. The IEA estimates current capture costs at USD 500 to USD 1,900 per ton, so project economics, modular designs, and access to low-carbon energy will decide how much of this forecast actually gets built.
