Diageo has launched the Littleconnell Brewery in County Kildare, a facility powered by 100% renewable electricity. The project is part of a larger investment to increase production capacity for Guinness and other brands while lowering the environmental footprint of the brewing process. The company expects the site to avoid 15,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually compared to traditional breweries. This industrial scale application of green energy aims to prove that high volume beverage production can be decoupled from high carbon emissions.
