DKK 249 million for 40 young researchers. DTU got 8 of those. The direct air capture project by Abdinejad is the one that stands out for this sub. Electrochemical DAC could be cheaper than thermal methods if it scales.

Electrochemical DAC has potential but the energy input matters. If the electricity comes from a dirty grid, the net carbon removal drops fast. Denmark has a clean grid, so that helps.

The eDACsustain project is interesting but still early stage. DKK 6.3 million over 4 years is not a lot for building a prototype. Hope they partner with industry later.

Sapere Aude grants are for research leadership, not commercial scale. The real test is whether these projects lead to spin-offs or patents. DTU has a decent track record there.
