DEKRA Korea and KTL Partner to Help Korean Auto Suppliers Meet Euro 7 and Carbon Rules for EU Market Access
macaubusiness.comDEKRA Korea has signed a partnership with Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL) to help Korean automotive parts suppliers comply with the European Union's Euro 7 regulation and carbon-related requirements. The deal focuses on mutual recognition of brake wear particle test reports, which are now part of Euro 7's expanded scope covering non-exhaust emissions. This matters because Euro 7 adds brake wear particles, tire wear particles, and battery durability to the list of regulated items, raising the bar for any supplier selling into Europe. The two organizations will also work together on Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). For Korean suppliers, this could reduce the cost and time of certifying products overseas by having test results accepted in Korea for EU type approval. It is a concrete example of how carbon and emissions regulations are reshaping supply chains and creating demand for new testing and certification infrastructure.
