Deep Sky delivers North America's first certified direct air capture carbon removal credits to Microsoft and RBC

Deep Sky and Isometric announced the first certified direct air capture (DAC) carbon removal credits in North America. The credits come from the Deep Sky Alpha facility in Innisfail, Alberta, which captured and permanently stored atmospheric CO2 underground. The credits were verified under Isometric's Direct Air Capture Protocol and delivered to Microsoft and Royal Bank of Canada under long-term agreements through 2034. The facility hit its milestones on schedule and within 18 months of starting construction. This is the first time Isometric has issued DAC credits, and the certification includes accounting for all project emissions and long-term monitoring of storage. Deep Sky says this is a step toward scaling DAC technology for commercial operations.
