Deep Sky, a Montreal-based carbon capture startup, has signed a 10-year agreement with TD Bank Group to purchase over 18,000 verified direct air capture carbon dioxide removal credits. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Deep Sky began operating its first facility in Alberta in August 2025, where it tests various carbon removal technologies, and has announced plans to build a commercial facility in southwestern Manitoba. This deal follows similar partnerships Deep Sky has made with French power company Engie and airline Lufthansa. For TD, the purchase represents a long-term commitment to buying carbon credits from direct air capture, a technology that removes CO2 directly from the atmosphere. The 10-year duration gives Deep Sky a stable revenue stream to support its technology development and commercial scale-up plans.
