Exactly. The maintenance on those sorbents in a sandy, high-heat environment is going to be a nightmare. If the filters clog or the heat exchangers fail every few months, the payback period disappears.

True, but most of this CO2 ends up being breathed out or decomposed quickly. Unless they are growing long-term perennials or processing the waste into biochar, the negative emissions claim is a stretch.
