DCM Shriram and Serentica Renewables sign 58 MW hybrid solar-wind deal for Bharuch plant, targeting 176 MW total green power by 2027

DCM Shriram has signed an agreement with Serentica Renewables to build a 58 MW hybrid renewable energy project for its chemical plant in Bharuch, Gujarat. The project combines solar generation in Rajasthan with wind generation in Karnataka to provide stable clean power. The company plans to invest up to INR 105 crore for at least a 26% equity stake in the project, which is expected to reach commercial operation by June 2027. Once operational, DCM Shriram's total renewable energy capacity across its Bharuch and Kota facilities will reach 176 MW (peak). The company estimates the new facility will avoid nearly 0.4 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The deal supports India's shift toward low-carbon manufacturing and gives DCM Shriram more certainty over long-term energy costs.
