DCM Shriram has signed an agreement with Serentica Renewables to develop a 58 MW hybrid renewable energy project for its chlor-alkali operations in Bharuch, Gujarat. The project combines solar power from Rajasthan and wind power from Karnataka to deliver round-the-clock clean energy. DCM Shriram will invest up to Rs. 105 crores for a minimum 26% equity stake in Serentica Renewables India Pvt. Ltd., and the project is expected to be commissioned by June 2027. Once operational, the project will bring DCM Shriram Chemicals' total renewable energy capacity to 176.4 MW, up from 118.4 MW. The company expects the project to avoid nearly 0.4 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. This partnership supports India's industrial decarbonization goals by securing reliable, low-carbon power for energy-intensive manufacturing, reducing exposure to volatile conventional energy prices.
