Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) has commissioned a 150 kW solar rooftop plant at its head office in Visakhapatnam. The project, funded under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, aims to reduce the company's reliance on conventional power and lower its annual carbon emissions by up to 240 tonnes. With an investment of 65 lakh rupees, the facility is expected to generate approximately 2.7 lakh units of clean energy annually. DCIL projects a full return on investment in less than 30 months through monthly electricity savings of roughly 2.5 lakh rupees.
